What People's Say About Place

Aside from vegans and vegetarians, who doesn’t love meatballs? At their most basic, they consist of ground meat (one or more varieties) rolled into a ball or oblong shape and can be found, with wild variation, around the globe. They are bound together with a little egg, milk, and perhaps breadcrumbs with some herbs and spices added to the mix. Located on a busy South Street in the heart of Morristown, my partner and I decided on dinner last night at Millie’s Old World Meatballs and Pizza, named after the owners’ grandmother, before the Mayo show. The location was ideal just a block away. The reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon arrival as first-timers, we were greeted by the staff and got a table inside the main dining room evoking modern Italy with an open kitchen, brick walls, chic red and black accents, and ambient electro music. Weather permitting, their loft-style garage door opens to the sidewalk for outdoors dining. Their menu features their specialties … meatballs with both coal-fired and Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas as well as other traditional Italian recipes, which are fairly extensive. We decided on the Fettuccine Tartufo and a small Coal Fired Millie’s Meatball Parmesan Pie. The food took some time, but we knew they were made with the finest ingredients and were absolutely delicious. The pizza was made from scratch, loaded with decent meatball slices, and had the right consistency where the crust was crispy and not burnt. Each dish on every table looked fantastic. We saved some room for dessert and shared their homemade Tres Leches cake. It was light, moist, and just the right level of sweetness. A little pricey across the board, but one can tell everything was made fresh. Our server was very pleasant. A perfect ending to an outstanding dinner, and our bellies approved. Definitely worth coming back for more than just meatballs and pizzas.

Had such a lovely and unexpected dinner at Millie’s Old World in Morristown the other night. We ended up there by chance after a friend called while we were over an hour away, and it turned out to be such a great evening! We were able to get a cozy table outside, and the weather was perfect. Even though Millie’s doesn’t serve alcohol, there’s a liquor store right next door, so we picked up a nice bottle of red wine. The staff had wine glasses and a corkscrew ready for us. It was a thoughtful touch! I ordered the Meatballs with Ricotta in Vodka Sauce, while my friends had the Meatballs with Fresh Mozzarella in Vodka Sauce sandwich. They loved how they hollowed out the bread and filled it with the meatballs. We also shared a fresh salad, and everything was delicious, served promptly, and beautifully presented. Even though we arrived close to closing time, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and never made us feel rushed. It was the perfect way to end an unexpected evening. Highly recommend!

Awesome meatballs ! Had meatball parm sandwich.. plus great dessert. Friendly and great service ..Byob...Ask for Santiago ! Ressrvation or just walk in. Went early before Mayo Show. Lets go Mets

My family, friends, and I have been long-time customers of Millie's since the day it opened, and it continues to be our favorite pizza place in town. Everything about our most recent visit was outstanding. We did a pizza-making class, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our entire party—it was fun, well-organized, and truly memorable. The service was excellent from start to finish. Peter, as always, was incredibly kind and generous, just as he has been for years. My family was visiting from Minnesota for Christmas, and we wanted them to have the true New Jersey experience, and this was absolutely the perfect place to do it. You simply can’t beat the food, the atmosphere, or the people. Highly recommend!

Good old world Italian food with a new age flare. Service was a little lacking considering my party was the only table in there. Not sure how the service would be when it gets packed. Had to give the “famous meatballs” a try and see what the hype was about. They were good but nothing really special. Too much sauce in my opinion and a bit overpriced. A lot of the pricing I thought was rather high like if you wanted to simply add cheese to something or a different kind of sauce it was like $3 extra. Pizzas were good but a little overloaded for my liking. Menu is a lot to look at considering there is two different types of pizzas you can choose from so it can become overwhelming. Would recommend it to someone who’s looking for a nice Italian dining experience with a group but would definitely order less food if I went back.

This place is already a go-to for great pizza, but we decided to switch it up tonight and were blown away by the dry-aged porterhouse. It was incredibly flavorful, expertly seasoned, and cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and exactly what you hope for from a quality steak. You can really taste the care that goes into the preparation. We finished the meal with the homemade tres leches, which was light, moist, and just the right level of sweetness—a perfect ending to an outstanding dinner. Definitely worth coming back for more than just the pizza.

We did a pizza making class here for my son’s birthday, and Millie’s was great to work with! A huge snowstorm was predicted on our original date, but Millie’s was very accommodating and rescheduled. The pizza-making class was in a separate room, set up with trays, tables/chairs, and drinks for the kids. Our instructor, Santiago, demonstrated how to work the dough in a way the kids could understand. He was patient and came around to make sure everyone knew how to do it. There were a lot of toppings the kids could pick from to make their own personal pies. We also ordered a few different pizzas for the adults to snack on. Kids and parents alike raved how good the food was and what a great class it was! Pricing was very reasonable for a birthday party, especially considering it includes an activity and food. We will definitely come back to try more pizzas and meals, and I’d love to do a girls’ night pizza making class!

Great Pizza, service was good, but not great. We went back for more pizza the next day because it was very good! We will be going back when we return to Jersey!
